WHO ARE WE?
The Forestry Undergraduate Society (FUS) represents all undergraduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia—home to one of the top forestry programs in the world. The Faculty’s strong global reputation is supported not only by its academic excellence but also by the FUS’s meaningful academic, professional, and social contributions.
The FUS is led by the Executive Council, which directs the Society's operations and serves as the official voice of Forestry undergraduates within the Alma Mater Society (AMS). In addition, the General Council—comprising 20 elected student representatives—works collaboratively to enhance the student experience across all areas of university life.
The FUS Council is defined by its enthusiasm and commitment to the student body. Together, they organize a wide range of opportunities for professional development, academic enrichment, recreation, and social connection. These include certificate programs, intramural sports teams, networking events, guest presentations, and more.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, the FUS was honored with the Best Constituency of The Year Award by the AMS, recognizing its outstanding leadership, student engagement, and contributions to campus life.
At its core, the FUS strives to ensure that every Forestry undergraduate student graduates not only with a strong academic foundation, but also with unforgettable experiences, meaningful relationships, and a lasting connection to the UBC community.
